How to Install a Gardall WMS Models
We are not
responsible for any injury to yourself or
others, any damage to your wall, you
tools,
or your wall safe. These directions
are only to assist with installation.
Notes:
- Flange
is for cosmetic only,
covering any
imperfections in the hole
you cut and improving the
appearance of the safe.
- The flange is not what
holds the unit in the
wall. It is the way you
install the body which
secures it in the wall.
- The
flange is attached to the
safe body, and then the
entire united is mounted.
Before You
Begin
- All WMS
model wall safes are deep
enough to extend through
the back side of the
wall. It is the fire
insulation which adds to
the depth of the WMS
models.
- While
choosing the location of
your wall safe, check
that the area of wall
does not contain
electrical, plumbing, or
heating duct work.
- Decide
how you want the flange
mounted to your safe.
Choices are described
below: flush mount or
recessed mount
|
| You will need
to chose whether you want your
safe flush to the wall or
recessed into the wall. See
instructions below. |
|
|
You will need to
build a support for the bottom of
the safe body between the two
studs you have chosen. |
 |
Flush
Mount
means
the safe front is flush with the
wallWith the flush mount:
- the
dial and hinges will
stock out from the wall
- the
safe front is flush with
the flange
To mount the flange to the
safe body
- Use
back holes [see diagram
to the right] to bolt top
and bottom of the flange
to the body of the safe
- Use
either back holes or
front holes to bolt the
sides of the flange to
the body
Note:
with the flush mount the dial and
hinges will stick out from the
wall
