This is the standard way to open a combination lock on a Gardall safe: 

Step 1: Turn left stopping when the first number comes to the mark the 4th time.

Step 2 Turn right stopping when the second number comes to the mark the 3rd time.

Step 3 Turn left stopping when the third number comes to the mark the 2nd time.

Step 4 Turn right past "0" until the dial stops.
